Visitors waiting for their time slot under the Nativity façade of the Sagrada Família

A Sagrada Família ticket is a timed, named ticket bought online: the basic official one costs €26 for an adult and includes the audio guide app (official prices, checked November 2026). Sales open about two months ahead, and there is no ticket desk at the door.

  • Children under 11 go free, but still need a free ticket for the slot.

Which ticket should you book?

The official site sells four tickets for individual visitors. All of them include the basilica, the museum below it and the audio guide app; the difference is a tower, a live guide, or both.

Ticket Adult Under 30 / student Senior What you add
Sagrada Família €26 €24 €21 Basilica, museum, audio guide
With guided tour €30 €28 €23 A live official guide
With towers €36 €34 €28 One tower: Nativity or Passion
Guided tour and towers €40 €38 €32 Guide and a tower

Our advice: the basic ticket is enough for most people. The audio guide (the official app’s audio guide, in 19 languages: 45 minutes standard or 25 minutes express) is good, and once inside you can stay as long as you like. Add a tower if you want the view and nobody in your group is under 6 or has trouble with long stairs. Choose a guide if you want the façades explained: they are dense with stories that are easy to walk past.

How far ahead should you book?

The official FAQ says tickets go on sale about two months before the visit. How early you need to book depends on the season:

  • April to October, weekends, Easter and Christmas: as soon as your dates are fixed. Morning slots and the late-afternoon slots with the best light go first.
  • November to March, weekdays: a few days ahead is often enough, but popular hours can still sell out.

Each ticket is for a fixed entry time. The official rule is strict: your ticket is valid only for the time you chose; if you arrive late you cannot go in.

Can you buy tickets at the door?

Not at a ticket desk: there isn’t one. The official FAQ says tickets are sold online only, and also that QR codes around the basilica let you buy on your phone, only if places are left for that day (official FAQ). In high season that is rare. Treat the QR codes as a last resort, not a plan.

What do you need to bring?

  • Your ticket on your phone or printed.
  • Official photo ID for every name on the booking: tickets carry your name and need official photo ID (ID card or passport) at the entrance.
  • Proof of any discount (student card, age, disability), shown at the entrance.
  • Clothes for a church and only a small bag: see dress code and rules.

What if tickets are sold out?

  1. Check the official site again the evening before and early in the morning: released slots sometimes reappear.
  2. Try another hour or day. Weekday mornings and the last slots of the day free up first.
  3. Book a guided tour with the entry included. Tour companies buy group slots in advance, so they often still have places when individual tickets are gone. The ones below all include the ticket.

Can you change or cancel a ticket?

as a rule no exchanges or refunds; requests go by email at least 48 hours before the visit. If a tower closes, for example in bad weather, the tower part is not refunded. Tour platforms are more flexible: most offers below allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

Tickets with a guide, compared

If you prefer a live guide, or the official slots are gone, these tours include the entry ticket. They are sorted by price, with what each one adds.
