Gaudí in one day works best as Park Güell in the morning, Passeig de Gràcia at midday (Casa Batlló, Casa Milà) and the Sagrada Família in the afternoon, when the west windows glow. Each sight needs its own timed ticket, so book them in that order, with gaps for travel.
In short
- 9:30 Park Güell → 12:30 Casa Batlló or Casa Milà → lunch → 16:00 Sagrada Família.
- Book all timed tickets first; the Sagrada Família sells out first.
- Metro L5 links Diagonal (Casa Milà) and Sagrada Família; L2 links Passeig de Gràcia and Sagrada Família.
- Shorter? A half-day tour does Park Güell and the Sagrada Família with transport.
The route
| Time | Stop | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 9:30 | Park Güell | Its own timed ticket; go early for cooler air and fewer people. About 1 to 1.5 hours. |
| 11:30 | Bus or taxi down | About 15–20 minutes to Passeig de Gràcia. |
| 12:00 | Casa Batlló or Casa Milà | Choose one, or see both façades from the street. Each about 1 hour inside. |
| 13:30 | Lunch in the Eixample | Away from the main avenue for better value. |
| 15:30 | Walk or metro to the Sagrada Família | L5 from Diagonal or L2 from Passeig de Gràcia; or 25 minutes on foot. |
| 16:00 | Sagrada Família | A sunny afternoon slot for the stained glass. About 1 to 1.5 hours. |
| 17:30 | Avinguda de Gaudí to Sant Pau | Optional evening walk to the modernist hospital. |
In winter, when the basilica closes at 18:00, move your Sagrada Família slot to around 15:00 and shorten the midday stop. Hours for each month: opening hours.
Why the Sagrada Família goes last
The basilica is about light. cool blues and greens on the east (Nativity) side, lit by the morning sun; warm yellows, oranges and reds on the west (Passion) side, lit in the afternoon. Ending the day there gives you the warm colours, and it is the sight most worth giving time to. If you prefer calm over colour, flip the day and take the 9:00 slot instead.
Booking order

- Sagrada Família → Sant Pau: 10 minutes along Avinguda de Gaudí. See what to see nearby.
Half the day, with a guide
